The winners of the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize<\/a> were announced at Cromwell Place on the 25th of October 2022.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Cl\u00e9mentine Schneidermann took first place for the series\u00a0Laundry Day\u00a0which depict the artist\u2019s neighbour hanging laundry in the garden of her home in South Wales. Taken during another challenging year in the UK, the photographs \u201cdocument micro events which deal with the passage of time through the small moments of our daily lives,\u201d comments Schneidermann.<\/p>\n <\/a>Laundry Day #2\u00a0<\/a>from the series\u00a0Laundry Day\u00a0by Cl\u00e9mentine Schneidermann<\/p>\n Second Place was awarded to Haneem Christian for\u00a0Mother and Daughter\u00a0and\u00a0Rooted, photographic works from two separate series that explore queerness and transness in relation to family, race and identity.\u00a0Mother\u00a0\u201cis a celebration of the family we choose,\u201d while\u00a0Rooted\u00a0\u201chonours the journey of returning to the Self by seeing yourself through the eyes of a loved one\u201d, explains Christian.<\/p>\n <\/a>Mother and Daughter<\/a>\u00a0from the series Jannah Lies at the Feet of Thy Mother\u00a0by Haneem Christian<\/p>\n
